- General
The following terms and conditions and disclaimer apply to the access and use of the Personalised Care Institute (PCI) learning environment (the website) and associated resources and materials available through the PCI website.
By accessing and using the PCI website you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions from the date you first use the website. We may change these terms and conditions from time to time and will post revisions on our website. We advise that you review these terms and conditions regularly.
You agree to use the PCI website and associated materials only for lawful purposes, and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of this site by any third party. Such restriction or inhibition includes, without limitation, conduct which is unlawful, or which may harass or cause distress or inconvenience to any person, and the transmission of obscene or offensive content or disruption of normal flow of dialogue within this site.
- Governing Law and Jurisdiction
To the fullest extent permitted by law, these conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Those who use the website thereby agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts, save where it is necessary for enforcement to bring proceedings outside of England.
- Access
All users must register with the PCI in accordance with our access and privacy policies. Access to courses or materials is subject to certain access controls. The PCI cannot guarantee that access will be uninterrupted or available at all times. Access may be withdrawn at the discretion of the PCI at any time, without notice or penalty. Access to the website is provided at the discretion of the PCI through the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) to authorised users in accordance with the access policy.
- Accounts and passwords
Your right of access is personal to you, for as long as we continue to provide such access. Personal account details must not be shared, and you are responsible for keeping your details secure and preventing unauthorised access to your account. You accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password.
- Intellectual property rights
The content, layout, design, data, and graphics in the PCI online learning website are protected by UK and other international copyright laws. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, none of the content may be reproduced, copied, or otherwise incorporated into or saved in any other website, electronic retrieval system, publication, or any other work in any form (whether hard copy, electronic, or other), other than in your appraisal portfolio, the content of which you may download and store for your personal non-commercial use.
You agree not to adapt, modify, or create any derivative work from any material contained in the PCI online learning website, or to use the material for any purpose other than your personal, non-commercial use. Framing of this site or any part of it is not permitted.
The PCI reserves the right of full editorial control over the content of all e-learning sessions, courses, materials and resources in the PCI online learning website, and may make changes to the content at any time. Although we make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy of the content, we cannot guarantee that the content is error-free.
- Permission for use of our intellectual property
Acknowledged authors of materials in the PCI online learning website may use their original content for non-commercial purposes in line with their IPR agreement. All other requests for permission of the content, images or use of our intellectual property not currently authorised by these terms and conditions should be made to info@personalisedcareinstitute.org.uk.
- User-generated content and feedback
Where you submit any response or posting to a forum, blog, wiki, feedback form, or contribute any other form of user-generated content, you grant us a non-revocable worldwide, royalty-free, transferable licence for the use of your content, which we may create derivatives of, distribute, and display in any media. We may edit or remove your submission at any time. User-generated content and responses are allowed strictly on the basis that the content is accurate to the best of your knowledge and is not illegal, obscene, racist, abusive, threatening, defamatory, invasive of privacy, infringing any intellectual property rights, or otherwise injurious to third parties, or objectionable, and does not contain software viruses, chain letters, mass mailing, political campaigning, commercial solicitation, or any form of 'spam' mailing. You may not use a false name or email address or impersonate any person, team or organisation in any part of the website, or otherwise mislead as to the origin of your content. You undertake to indemnify the PCI for breach of any of these warranties.
Feedback comments you submit may be visible to other users of the site, including guest users. All comments will be published anonymously, and may be provided to third party funders, however please be aware that any personal identifiable information you submit within your comments may be publicly viewable.
- Trademarks
Trademarks and logos displayed on the PCI online learning website are the trademarks of the PCI and its Licensors and Partners. Any use of PCI or RCGP trademarks is strictly prohibited without our expressed written consent.
- Personal data and privacy
Use of the data collected by use of our websites or provided by you on the PCI website is governed by the RCGP Privacy Policy .

The PCI online learning website contain links which may take you to external websites and documents. Links are provided for your convenience, and inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement or approval of the linked website, its operator or its content, and we are not responsible for the content of any linked website (with the exception of PCI website).
- Viruses
We make reasonable efforts to check and test material at all stages of production for viruses, although we cannot guarantee our material to be virus free. Users are advised to run an anti-virus program on all material downloaded from the internet, including that in the PCI online learning website. We cannot accept any responsibility for any loss, disruption or damage to your data or your computer system which may occur whilst using material derived from this website.
- Losses
To the fullest extent permissible by law, we will not be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential losses resultant from your use of the PCI online learning website, including loss of revenue, profit, anticipated savings, data, goodwill, or wasted expenditure.
- Events Beyond Our Reasonable Control
To the fullest extent permissible by law, we will not be held responsible for any delay or failure to comply with our obligations under these conditions if such delay or failure arises from any reasons of Force Majeure, which shall include any default due to an act of God, act of terrorism or threatened terrorism, individual action, act of war or threatened war, lock out, fire, flood, drought, tempest or other event beyond our reasonable control.
- Alternation of Service or Amendments to Conditions
We reserve the right to make changes to our websites, policies and terms and conditions at any time. You shall be subject to the policy's terms and conditions in force at the time that you use the website. If any of these conditions are deemed invalid, void or unenforceable, that condition will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any other condition.
